David Oakley
Role: Charity Director Joined: 2010
David is the business brains behind the Charity. As a qualified accountant, he ensures the Charity maximises all fundraising activities. His role sees him working alongside the Trustees on the future plans of London’s Air Ambulance and certifying the development of the service. Previously from the business and financial services world, working with companies such as Rivington Street Holdings PLC, he has specialised in bringing small companies to market and growing their value. A family man at heart, David cares for shooting, sailing and trying to keep fit to keep up with his two grown up sons. He enjoys serving the London community as Charity Director for London’s Air Ambulance.

Dr Julian Thompson
Role: Executive Director and Doctor Joined: 2010
Julian qualified as a doctor from Oxford University in 2001 and trained in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care in London and Oxford. He worked as a doctor on London’s Air Ambulance in 2010 and returned as an Executive Director in November 2011 to lead an enhancement of the capacity and funding of the service in partnership with senior figures in the City of London.
His interest in Pre Hospital Care has been developed through his experiences of working with the British Army in Afghanistan and leading mountaineering and exploratory expeditions across the world. In 2005 he reached the summit of Mount Everest and has combined this passion with a research interest in the response of the human body to extreme environments.

Christine Margetts
Role: Fundraising Manager Joined: 1997
Christine was the first person employed to fundraise for the charity in 1997. If you need to know about a fundraising matter, she is your lady! Largely working on the Gala Ball, golf events and general managing of the fundraising office, Christine is passionate about raising funds for the cause and development of the charity. Christine began working for the NHS in the School of Physiotherapy, where her fundraising interests began; she then became a medical secretary before taking up the post of Fundraising Manager. In her first task for the physiotherapy department she raised £4,000 from a parachute jump, enabling the purchase of a treadmill, and when she was the landlady of a pub, she also gained experience raising funds from her legendary quiz nights! When not working for the charity she enjoys holidaying at her house in Spain and riding her Harley-Davidson with her husband.

Diane Richens
Role: Head of Corporate Fundraising Joined: 2011
A graduate of the University of Kent, Diane has worked for multi-national organisations in both the private and third sector. With more than ten years’ experience in National Account Management and Business Development, Diane has built successful partnerships with high profile organisations in a wide range of sectors. Diane’s role with London’s Air Ambulance is to develop major donor giving, high level Corporate Partnerships and Sponsorship in support of the Charity. Social butterfly Diane enjoys nothing more than meeting new people especially whilst pursuing her love of travelling. And what better way to travel than on motorbike with her husband. Diane also has serious love of shoes!

Stephen Armstrong
Role: City Fundraiser Joined:
Stephen works part-time for London's Air Ambulance, raising funds from grant-making trusts and companies. He has been a fundraiser for 15 years mainly for international development charities. Stephen enjoys travelling and has visited over 35 countries. He has also lived and worked in Papua New Guinea, the Cook Islands, South Africa, New Zealand, Finland and Spain. He loves the fact that London's Air Ambulance is one of the few London charities that is there for every Londoner regardless of their status.

Siobhra Murphy
Role: Public Relations Manager Joined: 2011
Siobhra (pronounced Sheefra) joined London’s Air Ambulance from Bishopsgate Communications, where she spent three years working in the City, specialising in Financial and Corporate communications for public companies – some in the healthcare sector. Previous to this, she worked in a Digital Marketing agency, where she gained her knowledge of utilising digital and social media platforms to increase brand awareness.
Siobhra’s key role within the Charity is to enhance awareness of the imperative service London’s Air Ambulance provides to the 10 million people who live, work and commute within the Capital. She looks after the Charity's communications and branding. True to her Irish roots, Siobhra loves to talk and socialise a lot.

Jodie Potter
Role: Lottery Team Leader Joined: 2010
Jodie started as a Fundraising Assistant. Since then she has successfully grown the London's Air ambulance Lottery, which she now looks after exclusively. Jodie is passionate about fundraising and started working as a volunteer fundraiser in 2000 for various different causes. Since completing university in 2007, she has spent a lot of her time traveling and completing internships for Starfish Greathearts Foundation and Great Ormond Street Children’s Charity. A couple of her crazy fundraising missions have found her trekking the Grand Canyon and walking 60km in the South Downs in a day! She is currently seeking her latest fundraising challenge.

Jane Marsh
Role: Events Manager Joined: 2012
Jane joined from the British Accreditation Council (BAC) where she was responsible for managing and developing BAC’s range of events and professional services as well as overseeing BAC’s relationship and communication with accredited institutions.
Jane’s role at London's Air Ambulance will be to manage existing charitable fundraising events as well as expanding the range of events that will contribute to the fundraising support of the charity.
Jane has a passion for skiing and outdoor activities, and can think of nothing better than spending time with friends in the mountains, by the coast or in the countryside.

Kirsty Whipp
Role: Volunteer Co-ordinator Joined: 2011
Kirsty recruits and manages our volunteers as well as coordinating all of our collections and donation pots. Prior to Kirsty’s graduation from university she completed an internship at the charity, YouthNet. On completion of her internship, which saw her help recruit volunteers for the Great North Run, Kirsty realised she wanted to build a career in the third sector.
