Graham Chalk
Role Lead Paramedic Joined: 1997
Graham joined the London Ambulance Service in 1988 and started as a Flight Paramedic with London’s Air Ambulance in 1997 on secondment, returning to life as a Motorcycle Paramedic just over a year later. Having always wanted to return, he had the opportunity in 2004 when the position of Lead Paramedic for London’s Air Ambulance and Specialist Response Coordinator for the London Ambulance Service arose. His responsibilities include recruitment and training of new Flight Paramedics, managing the Paramedic team, and acting as a link between the LAS and LAA. When not working, his passion is sailing his boat. He lives on a houseboat in Sussex.

Samantha McLaren
Role: Flight Paramedic
Sam joined the NHS is 1998 where she initially worked in hospital as an Operating Department Practitioner. She then left to go back to university to undertake the Paramedic Science degree before joining the London Ambulance Service in 2004. She has always wanted to be a Paramedic and joining the London's Air Ambulance team in September has been an amazing opportunity to develop further. In her spare time Sam loves to ski, having worked as a guide for a season in the French Alps and spends most winters wishing for snow!

Ciaran McKenna
Role: Flight Paramedic
Ciaran, from Armagh in Ireland, came to England to study Paramedic Science in 2001. He qualified as a paramedic in 2005 and normally works as a team leader in Kenton, North West London. His aim has always been to work with London's Air Ambulance which he has now accomplished, having started in July 2011. Outside of work, he enjoys travelling around Ireland and France with his wife and 2 kids.

Miguel Lopes
Role: Flight Paramedic
Miguel joined the London Ambulance Service in 1997 and qualified as a paramedic in 2002. He has been a team leader based at Greenwich for the last four years. He started his secondment with London's Air Ambulance in May 2011 and feels privileged to work for such a highly professional and dedicated team. Miguel said: "It is an excellent opportunity to increase my knowledge and ability to care for criically injured patients.
